King of Prussia Mall Here We Come

Hello,

I am so excited to announce that we are less than one month away to opening the doors to our very first Paula Hian pop up shop! This has been in the works for quite some time now and I am thrilled to finally share this news with you!!

I wanted to make sure that the space we chose would be the perfect fit to what the Paula Hian brand has always been: daywear to evening wear for women with their own unique sense of style. That being said, it took looking at endless spaces to finally find the right one that best fit the aesthetic.

I also wanted it to feel personal and personalized to each customer; to make you feel like you are at home in your very own personal dressing room but at the same time feel like you are being pampered. I feel that this space will do exactly that in its unique design.

Inside the store, you will find a little bit of everything from each of my favorite collections… plus a few new surprises.

I feel like everything is coming together exactly as I imagined and even though there is still so much more work to do, I couldn’t be more pleased and sincerely hope that you will love it as much as I do!

Find us in the King of Prussia Mall in King of Prussia, PA starting November 10th from 10am-9pm, Monday – Saturday and 11am-6pm Sundays. We will be easy to access in the former Hermès boutique on the ground floor next to the Neiman Marcus cosmetics department.

Ok, that is all for now! More updates to come as we get closer to opening.

XOXO

Which has been your favorite collection to design ever?

I think Spring 2017 would have to be my favorite! As an entire collection. Certain pieces from Fall 2017 are my favorites.

What is your favorite piece from Spring/Summer 2017?

The Aubrey gown.

Is there a specific time of year and country/city/place that inspires your collections?

It seems to hit when it hits – but always in Paris!

How do you come up with themes and ideas for your designs?

They just come to me. It has always been like this and then evolves as what feels right for the season. As artists we don’t know where it arrives from!

Do you wear your own designs? Which is your favorite piece to wear?

Yes! Always. I think is either the Gallia top, Ophelia dress, or the Gemma leather jacket and Solange top – hard to decide which is my favorite to wear.

What advice do you have for other aspiring designers?

Stay true to yourself. You have to fight every day!!

So what is your favorite drink at Starbucks??

Frappuccino light café vanilla (vanilla w/ coffee in it). I get it in Starbucks France. They even know me when they see me on the highway and just get my drink ready (en francais!)

Have another question for Paula? Feel free to leave additional questions in the comments and Paula will get back to you!

4 of Paula’s Favorite Looks From Spring/Summer 2017

This spring/summer I wanted to put together a collection that had intricate details while retaining simplicity.  The goal was to emphasize the core of what a knit really is by creating pieces to mix and match for any occasion. With summer now here, this is a good time to showcase some essentials for your wardrobe and how they can be paired together.

  1. Aubrey Gown
2016.20.11_PAULAHIAN_SS17_AUBREY_028

The abstract structure of this dress turned out to be completely flawless. When I envisioned this piece I was inspired by geometric shapes and endless lines to create a design that is everlasting. With the abstract print and the color, this is a piece that will not go unnoticed while you’re wearing it.

PH Blog Post- Cheyenne Dress

Intended to be worn as a classic fit and flare, this dress ultimately became dual function. While shooting this piece at the photoshoot, a spontaneous decision was made to photograph the dress with the collar up. Instantly it became a brand new look and blossoming one dress into the idea of two.

Subtle but designed with refined details, the cap sleeve structure is the perfect way to TOP it off. This Pinafore dress offers a black top and base but the skirt comes in a choice of several vibrant colors which you can see in other pieces of my Spring/Summer collection. Whether you’re on the way to work or ready for a night out on the town, this two toned polka dot “beaute” will become your next favorite.

4. Tracy Jacket/Georgine Skirt

2016.20.11_PAULAHIAN_SS17_TRACY_025

Smooth lines transform this combo into the perfected geometric dream. Made with lightweight yarns, the framework makes the garment easy-to-breathe. Created as “sport couture” I wanted to keep these pieces easy to mix and match with other pieces of the collection. The scallop build of the skirt wears as a wrap, giving an asymmetrical look.

I sincerely hope that you will enjoy wearing these four looks and the rest of the collection as much as I enjoyed designing it.

xoxo,

Paula

Start Your Holiday Gift Shopping Early At Couture and Cosmetics…

personal-message

pre-holiday-event-2016

Couture and Cosmetics, a Holiday Pop-Up Shop Collaboration between Paula Hian Designs and Laini Cosmetics, will take place Thursday, November 17th at 6-9PM at the Paula Hian Designs Showroom located at 106 Gay Street, Manayunk, PA, 19127. There you will be able to indulge in your love for luxury knitwear, accessories and winter outerwear, while perusing and purchasing versatile and quality makeup products that will perfectly complement your new Paula Hian styles. If you are lucky—and you will be – you will also find some holiday treasures for your friends and family as well. Remember the rule: “One gift for them, Two for me”.

Laini Cosmetics is a labor of love collection curated by Style and Beauty Expert, Laini Bianculli. Her company’s objective is to restore light to your complexion and overall makeup look in every category of the brand’s ready to wear products. Chief Creative & Image Director of http://www.StyleWithLaini.com, Miss Bianculli understands the need for versatile quality cosmetics to enhance your fashion choices and your 24/7 lifestyle.

The RSVP Ready Laini Cosmetics Holiday Collection is highly complementary to the pieces in the Paula Hian 2016 Fall/Winter Collection. Miss Hian describes the collection, manufactured exclusively in France and knitted in viscose-Lycra Italian yarns, as “graphic, bold and textured; either toned down in tailored form or jazzed up for more dramatic fashion.” For Fall/Winter 2016, her knit tweeds and abstract plaids are intended to look crisp and soft at the same time “to reflect the feminine/menswear vibe I am looking to portray.” The colors run the spectrum from black and navy to azure blue, poppy and electric blue into tonal greys. “I see these colors and the mixtures of them as ‘Paula neutrals’… to cleanse the palate. I am not a beige person- ever. Rarely pastels. These colors feel Fall 2016 to me rather than the browns and more traditional autumn-looking shades.” (The Paula Hian 2016 Fall/Winter Collection is presently available online at http://www.paulahian.com.)

As you sip the complimentary champagne and/or wine at this special event, the Paula Hian 2016 Fall/Winter Collection, accessories and more, will be on display in the showroom and Miss Bianculli will be available to do mini makeovers and teach guests new makeup application techniques using the Laini Cosmetics makeup line. She will also help guests match their Paula Hian purchases with the proper makeup, all of which will be available for ordering during the evening. Think of this as an upscale designer trunk show with all the extra trimmings. Is there a better way to start the holiday?

Guests attending Couture and Cosmetics will receive an EXCLUSIVE discount code that will last one week (November 17th-24th) for purchases on both http://www.lainicosmetics.com and http://www.paulahian.com. For more information on Couture and Cosmetics, email showroom@paulahian.com, call 215-487-3067, http://www.paulahian.com, or Laini Bianculli at lainicosmetics@gmail.com.
